THE PROGRESSIVE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IN SWITZERLAND

We are the Progressive Boarding School in Heart of the Swiss Alps

On a peaceful campus nestled in the pristine meadows of the Swiss Alps, you’ll find the Ecole d’Humanité. We offer a US High School university preparatory curriculum as well as our Swiss Secondary School program.

The Ecole’s academic curriculum is rigorous, challenging, and supportive. Our learners dive deeply into core subjects, where small class size, personalized attention, and deep focus helps students to truly integrate learning. The Ecole d’Humanité offers AP™ courses, and the opportunity to study in English or in German.

Progressive Education in Action

Watch Addison as she takes you through her day at the Ecole d’Humanité and shares with you how progressive education helps her become more academically confident.

The Ecole Advantage

At the Ecole d’Humanité, students live and study on our charming village campus where they are encouraged and supported to discover both their academic and personal potential.

We are a progressive school with a holistic approach to teaching, meaning we attend to all aspects of our students’ development - academic, artistic,  athletic, and social. Our curriculum is balanced in three parts, each playing an essential role in our students’ education: academics; arts and handcrafts; and outdoor education.

One School, Two Systems

The Ecole d’Humanité offers a US High School Diploma with the option of completing the Advanced Placement International Diploma™ (APID). In our German Language System, we offer a Swiss Secondary education with the option of completing the Swiss Matura.

A Holistic Curriculum

The Ecole is a progressive school with a holistic approach to teaching. We know that learning is not limited to the classroom. Learning happens all around us - in grappling with a challenging math problem or in resolving a conflict with a roommate. Learning happens in perceiving a new pattern in a piece of music or in noticing the path a creek takes as it bubbles down a hillside.

We view the academic and personal development of our students as having equal importance. Our curriculum is balanced in three parts, each playing an essential role in our students’ education: academics; the arts and handcrafts; and sports and outdoor education.

The quality and quantity of social interaction in the Ecole community, along with wonderful physics and math classes with five or six students, made a lasting impression on me, and contributed in a major way to my decision to become a doctor.
— Christopher Richard, former student, Clinical Fellow, Royal Sussex Country Hospital, Brighton, UK
