Our International Boarding School Facilities

A Small + Well Appointed Campus

Ours is an intimate and well-appointed campus with a rustic charm. We offer a wide range of facilities to help our students learn, discover, and grow as individuals. Tech labs are a space for students to experiment, innovate, and enhance their academic activities. Traditional workshops and studios for makers and artists serve as creative spaces where beautiful works of art are born.

Academic Facilities

Our classrooms are located throughout our school village, integrated into campus chalets that dot our grounds. Classrooms with majestic views are a cozy setting for lively discussions. Small schoolrooms provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere for academic discussions. With easy access to nature, the world becomes our classroom. Students and teachers often venture out into the landscape around our school for field experiments in biology, chemistry, and physics. The Ecole d’Humanité also boasts a  collection of technical equipment and software for student-run experiments like testing the aerodynamics of various skiing postures, or seeing how long it takes for sound waves to travel to our campus from the nearest hill.

Our newly-built library holds an enriching collection of literature and resources in both English and German. You’ll often find students studying in a quiet corner, getting homework help in our Learning Center, or curled up with a book in a reading nook.

Technical Facilities

The Ecole d’Humanité is furnished with a collection of technical facilities that enhance classroom study. In our tech lab, students write code or design 3D models. Students can bring their designs to life on our 3D printer, and experiment with their prototypes in the field.

Our video studio features powerful computers for video editing. A green screen is a backdrop for creation where students’ imaginations are the only limiting factor in production.

The graphic lab hosts computer workspace and software for students to dig into filmmaking, photo editing, graphic design, and digital art.

Space for Makers

The Ecole d’Humanité is dotted with workshops and studios for makers of all sorts. The clang of hammering rings through the smithy as students forge their own hand-made tools on a traditional hearth. Students can also learn welding and other forms of metalwork.

Next to our smithy is a well-appointed woodshop where students might carve a wooden bowl using a chisel and mallet, tackle a math problem by building a Gordian knot, or create their own musical instrument.

In our pottery studio, students throw clay and fire their works in the kiln. Students have the opportunity to learn weaving, knitting, sewing, and all manner of textile arts in our textile room.

Budding photographers can learn analog photography, seeing their images come to life in our darkroom, or explore digital photography and filmmaking in our graphics lab.

Athletic Facilities

Located around our campus are several spaces for students to enhance their athletic practices. We have a student-run gym for strength and athletic training, and the sports hall is an ideal space for gymnastics class or an exciting parkour course.

Our campus features athletic fields where we host pick-up games of touch rugby or train our Ultimate Frisbee team. Skateboarders and BMX bikers can hit the pump track located behind our school or practice kickflips and 50-50 boardslides in our central Platz.

Students interested in mountaineering and climbing perfect their bridging and heel hooks in our bouldering room.

Beyond our campus, we have an extensive network of hiking and mountain biking trails. Climbers practice in a world-class climbing gym in Meiringen. Located a short distance from our campus is a wide collection of climbing routes, where students can put their climbing skills to practice on rock faces and cliff walls. A ski resort with more than 60 kilometers of trails is located just a short walk from campus.

See the dream for yourself.
