The Ecole:

No Fertile Ground for Bullying

Bullying is a widespread problem in schools, affecting students' emotional and academic well-being. The Ecole d'Humanité offers a unique environment designed to prevent bullying and promote a safe, supportive community. Discover why our school's structure makes it harder for bullying to thrive and how we create an inclusive space for all students.

Social Hierarchies Do Not Thrive Here

The community life at the Ecole d'Humanité is highly developed. Students engage with each other in diverse situations, live together in chalet houses, and share many daily experiences. This close-knit environment prevents the formation of monopolized social hierarchies, fostering a sense of equality among all students. Emphasis on collaboration and mutual support ensures that every student feels safe and accepted.

Our Community as a Fail-Safe

The Ecole families further strengthen the sense of community within the chalet houses. Family heads and members often become close confidants, preventing social isolation and creating a supportive environment. This tight-knit community ensures that anomalies and problems are quickly noticed and addressed, significantly reducing the risk of unnoticed bullying. The school promotes respectful interaction and redirects potential bullies to manage their insecurities constructively, fostering positive behavior and participation in the school community.

Sensitized Anti-Bullying Culture

Our teachers are carefully selected to support the school's philosophy of inclusion and diversity. They are particularly sensitive to emerging discrimination and address issues promptly and effectively. Small class sizes, averaging six students, allow for close supervision and early conflict resolution. The Trust Council, consisting of elected students and supervised by staff, provides confidential support and handles severe cases, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining a positive school culture.

What People Are Saying

“The Ecole’s innovative approach to education and its dedicated teachers taught me to think both critically and creatively. The Ecole also pushed me to take responsibility for my education. I left the Ecole not only with skills that allowed me to excel academically but also with a joy of learning and intense curiosity that has lasted to this day.”

Dr. Djahane Salehabadi, University of Freiburg

“Our son hated school and for sure wanted nothing to do with college. He came home for Christmas after his first term at the Ecole knowing where he wanted to go to University, and what he wanted to study. He was able to follow his dream and has since earned an MBA."

“No other place has offered me the same lessons in living a balanced life, keeping an open mind, building relationships, and developing problem-solving skills – all attributes I credit for a happy and contented life today.”
