Throwback Thursday: Ecole Featured in Youth Magazine “SPICK” (1985)

In its December 1985 issue, the Swiss youth magazine SPICK dedicated a multi-page feature to the Ecole d’Humanité. From Romanticism lessons outdoors and gong-rung cleaning time to computer courses taught by students for students, the article offers an authentic glimpse into daily school life on the Hasliberg at the time.

📖 SPICK was (and still is) one of Switzerland’s most well-known youth magazines – curious, critical, and always focused on the perspective of young people.

🧹📚👫 True to the ideals of progressive education: Head, heart, and hands weren’t just words here – they were a lived reality, even back in 1985.

📸 Enjoy this little time travel, 40 years into the past!
