A SWISS STUDY EXPERIENCE - FROM GRADE 7 TO MATURA PROGRAM GRADUATION

The Ecole d’Humanité offers three academic paths within the Swiss school system: Secondary Level I (grades 7–9), the 10th School Year, and the Matura Program (grades 10–13). All programs are based on a progressive educational concept that promotes discovery-based, hands-on, and holistic learning.

A teacher interacts with students in a classroom, where students are seated at desks with open laptops, engaging in a discussion.
  • The Ecole d’Humanité Matura preparatory program spans three and a half years and is taught in small groups of approximately four to eight students. Students are tutored in the core academic subjects in preparation for the credentialing exams. Guided by attentive and passionate teachers, Ecolianers also prepare their Matura thesis, a formal research paper in a subject of the student’s choice.

    • Enroll without entry exam

    • Earn a federal Swiss degree that is recognized worldwide

    • Advance to university studies

  • The Swiss Matura program is for students in grades 10 through 13.

  • This program is taught in German.

  • Students sit the first partial examination in February of the 12th grade, which covers the following subjects: biology, chemistry, geography, history, physics, and either music or visual arts. At the end of the 13th grade, students complete the second partial examination in German, English, French, Mathematics, their chosen major, and a supplementary subject. See the course catalog.
